Feeling Down, Wear Some RED!
Feeling Down? Wear Some RED!

Wearing something red is a simple and effective way to cheer yourself up and feel more energized. I personally love the colour red, and wear it whenever I need a bit of a pick-me-up. Colours are a powerful part of the non-verbal communication process and impact on the way we feel. Red gives me confidence to take on the challenges of my day. After all, who is going to mess with the person wearing red? For me, red is also how I add a bit of drama to my outfits and my daily life.

I was recently talking to a couple of friends when one of them commented on my red pashmina. She said that it was such a beautiful colour and that her wardrobe was filled with black and was quite boring. When I asked why she limited her selection to black she responded that black was safe and she didn’t know what other colours to choose from.

Black is a very common colour when it comes to clothing but there are other colours if you look hard enough. It is a bit like buying a new car, suddenly you notice every other car that is the same colour as yours. Before buying the car, you probably didn’t give that colour much thought. If you start looking for other colours when shopping for clothes, you will be amazed at what else is out there.
Why limit yourself to just black?

Navy, charcoal and brown are other great neutral colours to select instead of black and they mix and match with reds, pinks, greens and blues just as well if not better than black.

If you simply can’t live without wearing black from head to toe then try adding a bit of colour in your accessories, with a fabulous necklace, scarf or bag. Try adding some colour in your lipstick. Red lipsticks are back this season and look great. If you are feeling a bit more daring, try a red handbag or a red pair of shoes.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with a few different colours in your clothing this season. Even with red there are many different shades to choose, from warm reds, cool red tones and muted reds. Choose the right one for you and have some fun.

Regards,

Anna
