What does your hair style say about you?
Have you ever wondered what your hair style says about you? You can tell a lot about a person by their hair style. If you are more conservative you will prefer neat and tidy hair styles, for a more dramatic person, neat and tidy will be way too boring for you and you will prefer much more daring haircuts and colours and if you are a la natural, your hair styles will be relaxed and casual. Our hair styles are a pretty good indication of who we are as people, how we present ourselves to the world and the type of lifestyle we live. As with the rest of our image, our hair styles are an important part of our non-verbal communication. Caring about your hair style gives people the impression that you care about what you do, both personally and professionally.
When it comes to the right hair style for you, follow what works for your face shape and personality. There is little point having a dramatic hair style and colour if you will not be comfortable with it. You take your hair with you everywhere you go so you want it to make you feel fabulous and be a good representation of you! A fabulous hair style can go a long way in increasing your confidence and self esteem.
A great hair style needs some love and attention to keep it healthy and maintained. Regardless of whether you have long or short hair, a hair cut every 6-8 weeks will keep the style looking good. Long un kept hair with no attention does nothing for you but hide your beautiful face and personality. Shorter hair gives the impression that you are confident and creative and what may have been fine in your teenage years probably won’t work for you as you move into your thirties and beyond.
If you have had the same hair cut for the last couple of years think about trying something a bit different and update your look. There are lots of hair styles so don’t be afraid to experiment a little. It doesn’t have to be a radical change but altering the length or adding a fringe or bit of colour can make you feel like a whole new person. Talk to your hairdresser about the types of hair cuts that will suit you. Your hairdresser should be someone you trust and feel comfortable with so if you are not happy with your existing haircut or they refuse to listen to your needs then maybe it is time to find a new one.
Don’t forget about the colour of your hair as this also plays a large part in determining what looks good for you. If your hair is making you feel a bit drab, try adding some highlights in your colour tones to give you a lift.Select colours that compliment your natural skin, hair and eye tones as the aim is to work with you and not against you. Blonde looks great if you have warm tones but can detract if your overall tones are cool. If you are not sure, try keeping your hair colour within several shades of your natural tones. You won’t have to colour it as often and you will save money, a good tip if you are on a budget. Hair regrowth is noticeable and signals that you don’t care about your appearance, not the most flattering look. Instead use your hairstyle to showcase a beautiful, confident and successful you!
