Be Fabulous in Your City
With all the hype and excitement of the new Sex in the City movie it is only appropriate to write an article on being fabulous in your city. This is the time to dress up and feel beautiful! For those of you who have seen the movie, it is very easy to be inspired by the fantastic clothes, shoes and accessories and I am sure we all identify with one of the characters and secretly envy their fashion styles and extensive wardrobes. Living in New York with all its fashion flamboyance and style is very exciting but there is no reason why you can’t do the same in your city. While some of the styles may not be appropriate for your lifestyle and work environment don’t be afraid to experiment a little with your outfits. Learning the art of dressing to your greatest potential is the ultimate fashion experience and is a great way to develop your own fashion style.
It is evident that Carrie and Samantha, being more dramatic personalities are not afraid to be creative with their outfits but Charlotte who is much more traditional is still fabulous in her more conservative outfits and Miranda’s more natural look is perfect for her. We are all different personalities and it is important to be yourself so develop a style that is your own. You can do this by thinking about your fashion style, daring to be a bit different and being confident with who you are. Remember to set some time aside for you and to look after yourself. Take the time also to catch up with friends and most importantly take time to laugh. Laughing makes us feel fantastic.
While it would be nice to have the wardrobe of even one of the 4 characters or have Carrie’s extensive shoe collection, it doesn’t mean you can’t find a fabulous pair of shoes or a great outfit within your price range or that you can’t step out in style and confidence. Do some research on the shops and boutiques in your area and check them out. The different fashions can create a new look for you as long as they work with your bodyline and colour range.
It is a very special feeling when you step out in style and feel that you could have stepped off the set of Sex in the City in a style that is perfect for you. So be happy, feel fabulous and have fun with your fashion!
